As you may have heard, Rosana Caplan has announced her retirement at the end of June after a wonderful career of 35 years. For thirteen of those years she has worked for the English Montreal School Board where we have called her “Ms. Rosana”, but you may also know her as “Shoshi” from her many previous years in Jewish Education. She has been the principal of Merton School for the last nine years, applying all her accumulated experience to this labor of love.
The Merton school community will be honoring Rosana’s time at Merton by creating a legacy fund that will be dedicated to extending the work of her heart. We are naming this fund “Merton Magic” a phrase she often uses to refer to the special mixture of factors that make Merton the unique community it is. Proceeds from this fund will be dedicated to the physical and human resources that underlie that uniqueness, and will kick off a larger fundraising effort to be continued over the next two years.
